VRAI’s diamonds exploded onto the scene a few years ago when Diamond Foundry announced they had a fast and environmentally friendly way of creating lab diamonds.
As with anything new there are bound to be bumps along the way, but VRAI has come through with the goods. After all the proof of the pudding is in the tasting.
Not only are VRAI’s diamonds created with responsible environmental policies in mind, the final product is making many people very happy.
Here are some of the engagement rings people have been sharing on Reddit.
Big Rocks
I’ve watched the rapid uptake of lab created diamonds over the last few years. The attractive prices of lab diamonds allows for people to go for bigger than the average half to 1 carat diamond we’ve seen in previous decades.
You may be surprised to know that the average diamond engagement ring in the middle of the 20th century was even smaller than half a carat. That’s right!
According to Fred Cueller (author of How to Buy a Diamond: Insider Secrets for Getting Your Money’s Worth) in the late 20th century the average engagement ring diamond was 0.38 ct. This may seem absurdly small by today’s standards. So much so that every time I quote this statistic I have to go back and look it up in Fred Cueller’s book. (It’s in the 6th edition, not in the 8th edition, both of which I have.)
Radiant
First up we have a gorgeous 1.75 carat radiant cut.
Radiant cut diamonds have seen a surge in popularity. Their appeal is no doubt due to their representing the best of both worlds: the elegance of the emerald cut blended with the brilliance of more faceted cuts.
It’s a little harder to know what to look for when working out how to choose a radiant cut diamond as would be the case with other shapes. There are more variables and less available information regarding this cut.
But this redditor got it perfect with this gorgeous sparkly radiant cut rock.
1.75 Carat Radiant lab created diamond H color VS2 clarity
“SO much sparkle!! That is everyone’s first reaction to it in person.
With Vrai, everything went very smoothly! No hitches at all.
I shopped around for about a month, then I put together the diamond/setting/metal I liked the most and sent the link to my guy. From purchase to arrival took 12 or 13 days I think. It’s even more perfect in person then I had expected.”

Oval
Oval cut diamonds are also seeing huge popularity. Not only is this evident in the hashtag count on social media, I know this from experience. I’m frequently asked to help someone choose an ideal oval cut diamond. Understandably. It’s a beautiful but tricky shape to get just right.
This redditor proudly showed off their 2 ct oval cut diamond. Note the brilliant way they matched the wedding band (which they informed us was sourced from Marrow).

This lovely 1.25 ct oval warranted a closer look as it drew many redditors in. The poster gracefully obliged with a close up shot. And we were not disappointed. Mesmerizing.

Pear
Pear cut diamonds are another elegant shape which share attributes with round brilliant and marquise. Some people when asking me how to choose a pear cut diamond voiced concerns as to whether pear cut diamonds can really shine.
Well, wonder no more.
This pear cut diamond will put that to rest.
Now if that isn’t a ball of fire, I don’t know what is!

Emerald cut
Ah, the quiet elegance of emerald cut diamonds can not be overstated. Emerald cut diamonds speak volumes but aren’t brash about it. They are there to be admired, but don’t clamor for attention like some other flashier shapes.

We had to take a closer look at this one, and the owner kindly provided this shot. Gorgeous!
